Position: PostgreSQL DBA
Type: 12 months contract
Location: Jersey City, NJ / Charlotte, NC

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and highly available PostgreSQL database solutions.
• Monitor and optimize performance, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage data replication, backup, and restore processes.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate PostgreSQL into system architecture.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks and troubleshoot production issues.
• Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, standards, and best practices.
• Provide guidance on data modeling, query optimization, and capacity planning.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in a DBA role.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, including data replication, compaction strategies, and consistency levels.
• Strong Unix/Linux systems administration background.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl) for automation and monitoring tasks.
• Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting distributed database environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with MongoDB and its operational best practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploying PostgreSQL in cloud environments.

Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $60 - $65 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
