Job Overview
  • We are seeking an experienced Capital Markets Architect with over 10 years of expertise in data architecture to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced investment management environment.
  • The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a critical project focused on consolidating data across front-to-back office operations in capital markets.
  • This functional role requires deep knowledge of capital markets, asset classes, and trade lifecycles, coupled with strong data governance and API strategy expertise.
  • The candidate will work closely with James, the project lead, to ensure seamless data flow, consistency, and governance across diverse data formats and systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential to influence stakeholders, align business objectives, and drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Data Consolidation Efforts: Design and implement strategies to consolidate data from front, middle, and back-office systems into a consistent format, ensuring accuracy and accessibility across capital markets workflows.
  • Drive Data Governance: Establish and enforce robust data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity, quality, and compliance throughout the trade lifecycle.
  • Guide API Strategies: Provide functional guidance on API development and integration to support efficient data movement and interoperability between systems.
  • Understand and Manage Asset Classes: Demonstrate deep knowledge of various asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives) and the trade lifecycle, ensuring data alignment across markets and systems.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with James and cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Influence and Communicate: Deliver clear, concise, and professional updates to senior leadership and stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly insights.
  • Support Data Flow Design: Architect solutions for transforming and mapping data across different formats, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency.
  • Champion Best Practices: Promote continuous improvement in data architecture processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance performance.
  • Leverage AI (Nice-to-Have): If experienced, collaborate with James to incorporate AI-driven solutions for data processing or analytics, though this is not mandatory.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years as a Data Architect or similar role, with a proven track record of designing and managing complex data architectures.
  • Capital Markets Expertise: Strong knowledge of capital markets, including asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.) and the end-to-end trade lifecycle (front, middle, and back office).
  • Data Governance: Demonstrated expertise in establishing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Data Flow and Transformation: Deep understanding of how data moves and transforms across systems, with experience in data mapping and integration.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex technical solutions to executive leadership.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to support and align with project lead (James) and cross-functional teams to drive project objectives.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • AI Experience: Familiarity with leveraging AI tools or platforms (e.g., machine learning, generative AI) for data processing or analytics is a bonus but not mandatory.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with data architecture tools like Erwin, Informatica, or Collibra for data modeling and governance.
  • Financial Services Background: Additional experience in investment management, asset management, or broader financial services.
Tools and Technologies
  • Primary Tools: Data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner), API management platforms, and data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
  • Collaboration Tools: Jira, Confluence, Webex, Outlook, Slack (used daily for communication and reporting).
  • Reporting Tools: PowerPoint for creating stakeholder presentations (templates provided, used weekly/monthly).
  • Nice-to-Have Tools: Familiarity with Asana, Planview, or Mural for project tracking and workshops (training provided, used monthly).
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CDMP) preferred.
