• Join the Capital Markets Architecture Team Canada’s largest bank, as an Enterprise Architect.
• This role is part of a central architecture team that supports the entire Capital Markets department, providing a unique opportunity to engage with all asset classes and business functions, from front to back office.

• As an Enterprise Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of Capital Markets.
• Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Capital Markets and enterprise-wide teams to define and standardize technology strategies, such as API development frameworks.
• Build consensus among stakeholders, document strategies on Confluence, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
• Provide hands-on guidance to development teams to ensure effective implementation of standardized capabilities.

Architecture Review and Alignment:

• Evaluate proposed architectures to ensure alignment with the high-level objectives of Capital Markets leadership and overarching goals.
• Conduct critical reviews of technical decisions, such as the choice between physical machines and internal cloud solutions, Redis versus MemSQL, or data sourcing from specific applications
• Ensure architectural decisions are optimized for performance, scalability, and strategic alignment.

Representation in Enterprise Initiatives:

• Act as the voice of Capital Markets in enterprise-wide initiatives, such as the development of an enterprise observability stack.
• Engage with developers to understand functional and non-functional requirements and advocate for solutions that meet Capital Markets’ needs.
• Ensure enterprise offerings are tailored to support the unique demands of the Capital Markets department.

• Programming Knowledge: Deep understanding of programming languages, their strengths and weaknesses, threading models, and performance implications.
• Data Technologies Proficiency: Expertise in data storage solutions, access patterns, caching strategies, and database technologies.
• Capital Markets Knowledge: Broad understanding of capital markets, including asset classes, trading workflows, and operational processes.
• DevOps Appreciation: Familiarity with DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to collaborate, build relationships, and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
